Lucas serves as a Church Plant Resident with a heart to see people experience the joy and transforming grace of Jesus. Before joining the residency, he spent more than ten years serving with a ministry called Young Life. During his time with Young Life, he invested in local students, developed volunteer leaders, helped build communities centered on the gospel, and put on more skit costumes than he could possibly count. Lucas is passionate about making disciples and developing leaders. His hope is to help create gospel-centered communities and spaces where people are known, welcomed, and invited to belong. He believes some of the most meaningful ministry happens around a dinner table, over a cup of coffee, and in the ordinary moments of everyday life. His desire is to help cultivate a church where loving Jesus and loving others isn’t just something people say—it’s the way they live. Lucas and his wife, Maddy, have a son, Wyatt, and a dog named Ragnar. In their free time, you’ll find them climbing at the gym, taking their longboards out for a stroll, or playing any sport that gets them outside.
