KC Onyekanne
Elder
KC is a first-generation Nigerian-American and the fourth of five siblings. Raised in Austin, he grew up in a home shaped by the prayers of his mother and the discipline of his father. Despite his parents’ difficult marriage, they ensured that KC was rooted in church life from a young age. He served as an altar boy in the Episcopal Church while also being exposed to charismatic worship traditions through his mother.
In high school, through his mother’s prayers and the influence of a youth director, KC placed his faith in Jesus. At Baylor University, he served as a resident advisor and discipled students. After completing graduate studies at Texas A&M, he moved to Dallas, where he served as a small group leader and began singing in church. Those years became formative in his faith, teaching him how to model and lead others in following Christ.
KC married his wife, Blair, in 2016, and together they moved to Austin, quickly joining The Well. Since then, KC has experienced Jesus’ ongoing work in freeing him from people-pleasing and insecurity, growing in the joy of being known and loved in Christ. His deepest desire is to remind others of the freedom and worthiness of Jesus.
At The Well, KC has served as a Worship Leader, CG Shepherd, and as an elder (2018-2022).
