David was born and raised in Dallas where he gave his life to Jesus at age 13.  He moved to Austin in 1980 to attend the University of Texas, met Shannon in 1986 and they married in 1989.  God abundantly blessed their union and added 3 wonderful children (now adults), the two best daughters-in-law in existence, and 3 grandchildren who possess unlimited cuteness.

During dating and early marriage, David and Shannon attended a non-denominational church in central Austin for 12 years, then attended Hill Country Bible Church for the next 26 years.  They began attending The Well before the pandemic of 2020 at the invitation of their son Daniel and his wife Angie.  The church’s commitment to “Exalt, Disciple, Send”, along with unwavering dedication to preach the Word of God and discipleship, have confirmed their calling to serve God’s family at The Well.

For many years Shannon and David have been blessed to reach out to international students by showing hospitality and hosting gatherings in their home.  They also enjoy college football, hanging out with old college friends and spending as much time as possible with the grandchildren.  Mostly, they are excited to be involved in God’s work to push back darkness, set captives free, preach the good news and proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor (Luke 4:18-19).
