WELL STORIES
From Every Nation
In a village held captive by darkness for generations, the name of Jesus broke through with light, peace, and the promise of deliverance.

On our first day as a team in Europe, we spent some time in worship and prayer, asking Jesus what He wanted to do with our time in this very diverse and spiritually dark city. As we worshiped, the Lord showed me a picture of a blue, bright, sunny sky with clouds. For context, the weather showed high chances of rain during our time in the city, and our first day there was rainy, dark, and foggy. This picture gave me hope of better weather, but also of spiritual openness as we shared the Gospel throughout the city that week.
Others on the team also shared that they sensed an openness and preparation of the hearts of people we would speak with. Most days, we noticed a pattern: the sky was clear in the mornings as we went out to share, would become cloudy and sometimes rainy in the afternoons, then would clear up by the end of the day. This was a gift from the Lord, allowing us more time to wander the streets and find people to speak with.
Throughout the week, our team spoke to people from over 30 countries and had over 300 spiritual conversations. One of my favorite stories from the trip started in a Halal market in the Arab part of town, where a friend and I asked a woman to help us decide which dates to buy. Although she did not speak English, we quickly hit it off through Google Translate, and she invited us to meet the next day. She is fluent in two languages: Arabic and another dialect specific to her people group. By God’s grace, there was a woman on our team who speaks Arabic, and another who speaks the other dialect! They came with me the next day to meet with her, and I had the privilege of sitting there and watching as her head whipped back and forth to speak to each of these women, and I was able to intercede as they spoke to her of the freedom found in Jesus.
I had the privilege of sitting there and watching as her head whipped back and forth to speak to each of these women, and I was able to intercede as they spoke to her of the freedom found in Jesus.
This got me fired up as I thought about the “great multitude… from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands,” worshiping the Lord for eternity (Revelation 7:9). Pray that this woman’s heart—we can call her V—would be opened to receive true and lasting freedom in Christ.
Honestly, I expected to go into our week in Europe and see story after story of new life in Christ. Thank you, Jesus, that we got to see some of this! One woman put her faith in Christ after hearing the Gospel! By the end of the week, she was baptized in a blow-up pool in our Airbnb bathroom and took communion with us for the first time. Crazy! This was only possible by His grace, as He had planted and tended the seeds to prepare this sister’s heart, and then led some of our teammates to her, who faithfully shared as they felt His prompting.
While we have so far only seen this one woman begin to follow Jesus, I have so much faith that the Spirit has touched the hearts of every person we spoke to, because He had told us already that He had gone before us! While I believe that the Lord used our time in Europe to show many people His pursuing love, He has also touched and brought healing to the hearts of every person on our team, and spoken much-needed identity over each of us.
He has reminded me that He has “planted eternity in men’s hearts” (Ecclesiastes 3:11), giving me renewed boldness and faith to speak the Gospel “as I go” (Matthew 28:18–20). He has also given me a renewed mission and vision, as He has shown me again His heart for the people of all nations that He has created and called His own.
