XO: Relationships
ABOUT THE SERIES
This post-Easter sermon series is designed to show the practical beauty of walking with Christ—especially through the lens of relationships. From singleness and dating to marriage and parenting, we’ll explore how our relationship with Jesus transforms every other connection in our lives. Why do we long for relationships? What does Scripture say about dating wisely, preparing for marriage, or raising children with a gospel-centered vision? Through honest conversations and biblical truths, we’ll break down cultural misconceptions, offer real-life guidance, and point to God’s design for flourishing relationships. Because we were created by a relational God, our relationships matter—and when rooted in Him, they can become powerful reflections of His love, grace, and purpose.

A Better Way: Relational Intelligence
In this sermon we will focus on the overall thrust of the sermon series. Why are relationships important? Why do we all long for relationships? How do we grow in our relationships? Ultimately our relationships, and the desire thereof derive out of our creation. We were created like our Creator who lives in perfect relational harmony. Only when we grow to understand Him can we grow in our understanding of how to sacrificially operate in each stage of life.

A Better Way: Dating
Dating is rarely talked about, and therefore very misunderstood. How do we date well? What if they’re not the one? Can I even date?! Scripture actually gives practical suggestions for us in finding a spouse. Within this, we’ll break down bad misconceptions, and give practical advice, while encouraging people to date when done healthily.

A Better Way: Sex
Our culture is obsessed with sex. Because of this, we have no idea how to view sex. Is it a gross, god, or gift? In this we’ll push back so of the lies of the world, and try to help clarify why Christians view sex very different than the world, but also very differently than “religious” people. We’ll focus on helping us see why the world’s view of sex is twisted, and yet we need not treat it as taboo; it is a good gift from God and when used (celebrated) in the right context, is a great gift, and even a picture of what we were created for.

A Better Way: Marriage
Marriage is something many long for, but yet aren’t prepared for because of our bad perception of what marriage is! Too often we see marriage as something that will complete us. When it doesn’t, we’re then left feeling often emptier than before! Yet marriage is a wonderful gift, and a great reflection of the ultimate relationship between Christ and us. When done well, and prepared well for, it can produce great rewards for this life, and the life to come.

A Better Way: Parenting
Rarely does our culture see parenting in light of the gospel. Kids are either a burden, so much so that we neglect to fulfill the creation mandate, or they’re overly glorified so much so that we make idols out of them. How do we parent Biblically, what does it look like to sacrificially honor little image-bearers, what happens if we’re single, or can’t have kids? To tackle parenting well is to help fulfill the Great Commission.
