Summary

The Men’s College Coordinator will work with the Women’s College Coordinator to help The Well Austin accomplish its mission and vision by equipping college students to be faithful disciples of Christ who have a high value for the local church and multiply their faith through reaching the lost on UT’s campus, specifically those who aren’t reached or ministered to frequently. The Men’s College Coordinator’s primary responsibilities are collaborating with the Women’s College Coordinator in college events, discipleship, evangelism & outreach, leadership development & training. This individual possesses the gifts of shepherding, teaching, administration, and exhortation. He should have a heart for the local church & be passionate about seeing the loss reached across different college campuses in Austin. He is dependable, a team player, and possesses excellent time management and planning skills.

 

Outcomes and Results 

  1. Upholding the mission and vision of The Well’s College Ministry which involves increasing church integration amongst students, and maintaining a high value for discipleship & evangelism in and through the College Ministry.

  2. College leaders are shepherded in such a way that they are consistently cared for through personal interaction and discipleship, as well as consistent training and structure. This will result in students growing in their ability to shepherd individuals in their group, frequent group multiplication, produce intentional discipleship, have a zeal for evangelism on campuses around Austin and post-graduation, and seeing a culture of “development” occur, fueling future leadership pipelines.

  3. Fostering relationships with post-college leaders and college students resulting in a unified Church where students and post-college leaders are able to build relationships, adding to The Well’s holistic diversity.

  4. Maintaining a consistent presence on campus; Spend at least 20 hours on campus weekly.

  5. Partnering with the Women’s College Coordinator to help develop, maintain, teach, and recruit toward The Well’s leadership development pipelines. This will result in future residents, missionaries, staff team members, church planters, etc.

  6. Curating a culture of connection amongst college students at The Well in various ministries by continually coaching students on how to connect with others to combat cliquiness.

  7. Partnering with other staff team members on how to incorporate college ministry into the life of The Well.

  8. Shows an eagerness to learn & implement ways to start and sustain Gospel Movements on campus.

 

Major Responsibilities and Activities 

  1. Owns at least 2 College Ministry strategic initiatives while participating in all strategic initiatives in the College Ministry Strategic Plan.

  2. Managing any & all male College Ministry Residents.

  3. Partnering with the Women’s College Coordinator to oversee interns.

  4. Collaborating with the Women’s College Coordinator to continually develop the College Staff Team by reading at least 2 books a year (Spring & Summer) as a team.

  5. Collaborate with the Women’s College Coordinator & Brand & Communication Director to coordinate messaging for web, social media, print, and other marketing collateral.

  6. Lead at least 2 discipleship-based groups (Discipleship groups, Discover Bible Studies, etc.)

  7. Partner with the Women’s College Coordinator to plan & execute the 6-week College Summer Discipleship Program.

  8. Partner with the Women’s College Coordinator to coordinate and execute college events including mission trips.

  9. Foster relationships with the parachurch ministries that serve students from The Well. (Revive, Ignite, Epic, AACM, etc.)

  10. Oversee annual retreat and trips for students, as well as potential summer projects (mission trips, leadership development, etc.).

  11. Grow The Well’s college ministry to reach more students, maintaining a diverse presence on campus and at The Well.

  12. Attend and participate in all staff meetings, events, and trainings.

  13. Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Ministry Manager.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Qualificaitons 

  1. Above all, has a personal affection for Jesus that is growing, sincere, and contagious.

  2. Believes deeply in the mission of God, the mission of the Church, and the mission and vision of The Well.

  3. Must display a genuine heart for college ministry and an overall heart for the lost; a clear call to (college) ministry

  4. 2+ years of experience working to communicate the Gospel clearly & effectively.

  5. Possess high emotional intelligence, outstanding verbal communication and social skills.

  6. Self Starter in initiating meetings with new students in a confident manner.

  7. Experience with connecting & building relationships to disciple students of non-majority culture and background.

  8. Confidently making connections with students and church members to see unity in the church

  9. Create an environment that upholds the Team Covenant and encourages camaraderie among teammates.

  10. Lead out in emotional and spiritual health in all areas of ministry.

  11. 2+ years of experience discipling and reproducing disciples in a college context.

  12. Values and protects diversity, and displays excellent interpersonal skills to build quality relationships within a team.

 

Culture 

  1. Actively participating in the life of The Well by attending weekly gatherings, upholding the core beliefs and values, joining a community group, and living out the mission of the Well.

  2. Theologically aligns with the core beliefs of The Well  and becomes a church member within 3 months of hire (if not already a member).

  3. Adhering to the Team Covenant and sees themselves as an owner of the mission, vision, values The Well upholds.

  4. Works well with a team and desires to be a family first, before an organization.
