SUMMARY:
The Community Groups Resident will work with the CG team, to help the Well Austin accomplish its mission and vision by creating and fostering groups where true Biblical community is experienced, true growth into greater and greater Christlikeness is occurring, and a true heart for the world and the church is continually forming. The resident will be both a doer and a learner as they work in various ways needed to help The Well excel and continue our growth and multiplication while being equipped for future leadership and multiplication. The general breakdown of this role would be 60% Well Employee (focused in Community Groups), 40% Learner (vocational and theological development).
OUTCOMES AND RESULTS – SUCCESS IN THIS POSITION WILL RESULT IN:
- In partnership with the CG team, CGs are shepherded in such a way where shepherds are consistently cared for through personal interaction, and within various discipleship and training spaces.
- CG ministry runs smoothly and is well-organized through excellent administrative care (PushPay maintenance, onboarding/offboarding shepherds, website updates, etc.).
- Trainings, classes, and big events continue to be well-attended and run smoothly for all who participate.
Curriculum and other supplementary resources are created for shepherds and church members to live gospel-saturated lives throughout the week.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:
- Shepherds our people through administrative and operational means; website, online management software, manual tracking, and other backend systems are maintained, or improved, leading to greater and more effective care for CGs.
- Manages the logistical planning and execution of key events within the CG ministry: Quarterly Shepherd trainings, OPA events, bi-annual classes, and “big” summer events (CG Olympics, Appreciation Dinner, etc).
- Participates in Resource Development rhythms of writing/editing CG curriculum to be engaging and gospel centered.
- Facilitates cohort spaces throughout the year to help individuals move along the discipleship journey.
- Growing personal devotional life including personal Bible reading, worship, and prayer
- Growing and displaying biblical character and integrity in every aspect of life

- Attend and participate in all exegesis, staff meetings, events, and trainings.
- Lead out in emotional and spiritual health in all areas of ministry.
- Fulfills other duties as assigned by the Ministry Manager.

- Deeply passionate about participating in and building up Biblical community, with a healthy vision for multiplication.
- Administratively gifted with a desire to not be complacent or settle for mediocrity. Aims for high excellence.
- A sincere love for ALL people far from God, and a deep desire / conviction to see them enter into the Family of God.
- A heart for the local church, & conviction of the church’s importance in reaching the lost, equipping the saints, & glorifying God.
- Ability to grow and disciple members within The Well’s concept of spiritual formation.
- A self-motivated person; who’s proactive and anticipates problems, sees needs and opportunities to grow, and finds solutions.
- Ability to coordinate & collaborate with Staff Team and volunteers at The Well to help maintain vibrant communication.
- Proactive about and anticipates what is ahead & taking steps to solve potential problems before they arise.
- Actively looking for ways to help The Well grow holistically.
CULTURE:
- Actively participating in the life of The Well by attending weekly gatherings, upholding the core beliefs and values, joining a community group, and living out the mission of the Well.
- Theologically aligns with the core beliefs of The Well and becomes a church member within 3 months of hire (if not already a member).
