Judges
Gideon: The Beautifully Broken Hero
ABOUT THE SERIES
Gideon was an unlikely hero and he didn’t have much to offer God. Even when he took steps of faith, God refined that faith, but Gideon still had a bunch of unbelief, hurdles, and (unfortunately) in the end indwelling, undealt with sin. There are clear examples to imitate, warnings to avoid, and ultimately a much greater Deliverer whom Gideon is pointing us to. Within all of this though, he was a man of faith, despite flaws, that God used for His glory. As we think about our church (and our lives!) existing for the glory of God, seeking to push back darkness in the midst of this, Gideon gives us lay-ups to apply and build off of. We too can be men and women of faith, careful about our flaws, and seeking to rid ourselves of them, but recognizing that God can do much with little!

Tearing Down Altars
In this sermon, we see how Gideon begins to push back darkness not just in his own life, or in the world, but even within his family. In order for the gospel to push back darkness, it often has to start in our families. How can we push back darkness not just "out there," but in our families as well?

How can we walk in the mission or vision that God has given us? What does it look like to take little steps of obedience as we prayerfully consider what God is calling us towards?

How Do You End Well?
In this sermon, we conclude our series in the book of Judges on our beautifully broken hero, Gideon. After all of Gideon's heroism, unfortunately, he doesn't really finish his life well. In fact, he sort of shipwrecks his faith! While it is easy to throw shade, finishing the Christian race well is actually very difficult. There are several pitfalls along the way. How do we avoid those cliffs and finish the race well?
